Join ZTL as a New Controller
In order to join the Atlanta ARTCC as a new ATC, you must follow these steps:

1)  Make sure you have a VATSIM Membership account.  You can sign up for an account at the VATSIM Registration Page.  Remember you may only have one VATSIM account.  If it is inactive or you don't know your password, do not sign up again.  Contact the VATSIM Membership Department for help.

2)  Once you have joined VATSIM and your CID (Controller IDentification) and password are working, you should proceed to the VATUSA Home Page and click on the Become a VATUSA ATC! on the right.  Follow the series of steps on the left and choose Atlanta ARTCC when appropriate.

Transferring to ZTL from another VATUSA ARTCC
If you are a member of an ARTCC within VATUSA, transferring to ZTL is fairly simple:

1)  Proceed to the VATUSA Home Page and click on the ARTCC Transfer link under the My VATUSA tab.  Fill out the form, and upon acceptance of the transfer, you will receive instructions via e-mail on how to get started at ZTL.  Please allow a few days for the transfer to process (it is a manual process).

Joining ZTL as a Visitor
In order to join the Atlanta ARTCC as a visitor, you must follow these steps:

1)  Contact the Atlanta ARTCC DATM and TA via e-mail with your interest in becoming a visitor.  Please, include your name, CID, and current ARTCC/FIR.  Expect to be asked for a letter of recommendation from the appropriate ARTCC/FIR staff member.

2)  Schedule an "interview" with the Atlanta ARTCC TA in order to verify you are competent in controlling the positions allowed by your current rating.

3)  Once the TA has signed-off on the visiting status, you can expect you be added to the visiting roster and receive instructions via e-mail on how to get started at ZTL.  Please allow a few days for the transfer to process (it is a manual process).
